Natural Food Wash is no ordinary food wash. Fruit & Vegetable: Add 1 pump of Natural Food Wash to 3 liters of water in a container. Fully submerge the fruit and vegetables for 30 seconds. Do NOT pour the water out immediately. Add water to the container in the sink until the water overflows. Thereafter, discard the water and give the fruits and vegetables a quick rinse. They are now ready for safe consumption.

Raw Meat & Seafood: In a container, massage Natural Food Wash on meat or seafood. For every 1 kg of meat, use 2 pumps. Slowly add water to the container and allow meat to be fully submerged for 5 minutes. Pour the water out, refill the container with water to rinse the meat. Discard the water, and your raw meat and seafood is now safe for cooking or storage.

Remove odours in food containers/processors: Perfect for baby bottles, coffee flasks and blenders. Wash the food container well (we recommend Gramp’s Asia Dish Wash.) Add 1 pump to a 1 liter-sized container. Fill container completely with water. Give it a good shake or stir. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Pour out the solution and rinse thoroughly. Your food container is now free of odor.

Handling: Store bottle in a cool, dry place away from heat or direct sunlight. Avoid contact with eyes, and flush eye with water with accidental exposure.

Should we wash raw meat and seafood?
The answer is an absolute yes. Proper washing of raw meat and seafood with Natural Food Wash eliminates odors, slows the growth of microorganisms, and keeps the raw meat and seafood fresher, and for longer, especially in warm and humid conditions. It also removes dangerous bacterial spores (e.g. listeria) which can survive the high heat of cooking.

In the United States, agencies like the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Agriculture (USDA) have advised against washing meat. Running meat under a tap might splash harmful bacteria around the kitchen, while a simple water bath does nothing to clean meat and seafood. However, it is common to wash meat in tropical countries because of climate and humidity. Households in Southeast Asia wash meat with salt, flour, lemongrass, and turmeric, etc. to remove the gamey or fishy odor of meat and seafood. There is a limit to the effectiveness of these traditional methods in cleaning and removing dangerous pathogens.
